Zoey has left her Midwest town and husband behind and flown the coop to glittering New York. Staying with her sister, Ruth, she is starting to cater dinners and parties…. and decide on her next step. A year long separation ending in either divorce or reconciliation.
When Tristan Malloy requests her services for a Cajun dinner party, she isn’t prepared for the young and handsome millionaire. Sweet, hot, and unerringly polite, there is no reason this man should be alone…. except that he has no fashion sense and is a bit reclusive. Zoey is determined to give him a makeover- better clothes and more confidence at the very least! But what happens when the makeover goes too well and Zoey is left with the realization that the only one she wants near Tristan is herself?
So, I talked about this one in my New Release Tuesday!!! 4-16-2019 post. I was super excited about this one, but strapped for book funds. Adulting sucks, kiddos, don’t let anyone tell you different. After making sure I have gas, my family is fed, bills are paid and the cats’ insurances have come out I have very little to spend on new books right now…. and yes, cat insurance is a thing. For $30 a month per monster I get unlimited vet visits, all vaccinations, two comprehensive exams, a dental cleaning for Boo and 10% off anything else. Totally worth it.
But I digress…. where was I? Ah yes, no money for the perks I went straight onto my library’s app and requested the eBook. I was only #38 in line! That afternoon when I went for my weekly visit I asked about the wait list for the paper book. No line! This never happens! I spent the last week delving into this one.
I wasn’t sure what to expect here- I had never read any of Stephanie Evanovich’s books before…. but I am going to! I loved the character development and the way they all played on one another. The premise here is absolutely adorable and even though I am sure pieces of it have been done a dozen times, it felt fresh and interesting. I could not stop reading and fell completely in love with the charming Tristan- seriously, we need more leading men like this. The attraction between Zoey and Tristan seemed sweet, and completely natural. I absolutely loved it! For me, this is a five star book.
On the adult content scale, there’s some language and sexual content…. not too explicit, but definitely geared toward a more mature reader. Let’s give it a seven.
The book is out! Have you read it?
